NEVER CONTENT started in 2014 without much of a plan beyond making things I wanted to see exist. Friends, cars, stickers, late nights, and a name that stuck because I was “never content”.

The golden era of Japanese car culture shaped it. Option and Drift Tengoku, street cars, tuning shops, drift teams of friends, 2000s video games. But the cars were never the whole thing. The people, the trips, the small details which turn into memories, and that’s what matters most to me.

A lot of NC is autobiographical, whether I mean it to be or not. Box Cat’s day in the life is the loop I’ve been on for years. Kin the fox came later, and he carries the second wind.

My dad followed every release, asked what I was drawing, and always reminded me to make a list and get things done. I chose Yokohama because that’s where that side of the family is from. Losing him changed my relationship with creating for a while, until I realized that making things was a better way to carry him forward than waiting to feel like my old self again.

So that's why I've been trying my best to keep NC going. The heart of something new, with the soul of something older.
